The Paint and Stain

Hey guys-

The paint job is completed, except for touch ups which will be addressed after the house is completed. I only used 3 colors through out our house, but love them. I chose pretty neutral colors which I think are pretty warm and cozy. The living room/entry/hallway is painted in a color called resort tan, the kitchen/study is painted in San Antonio Sage, and the rest of the house (ceilings, trim, doors, bathrooms and bedrooms are painted Echelon Ecru. I do have intentions of painting some of the bedroom and maybe the bathroom walls a different color, but for now we did what was they cheapest and we will add color through rugs, bedding, linens, wall decor, etc.... The stain for the doors was the scariest decision I had to make, because the front door is mahoganey and the back door is made of stainable fiberglass. I wasn't sure if they would both soak up the stain the same way or not. I also had the posts and shutters stained with a solid stain so the matching was somewhat stressful for me. However, it turned out to be just great for us! We love it! Hope that you enjoy the pics....some are hard to tell the exact color because there is still no lighting and then it was cloudy so not much light was available. Let me know what you think, but please be kind if you don't like it...I am pregnant and emotional!

More pictures of the house

Our latest house Update

I know I say this every time, but I truly am sorry that it has taken me so long to update you all on our house. The process has been somewhat quick and somewhat slow. It seems to be that if we can get people out there to work then it goes quickly, but sometimes that is a struggle to do. The pictures can tell all but that we are supposed to be finished by the time we leave for California. We are still not sure if that is true or not, but we aren't holding our breath so we shouldn't be too disappointed if we aren't. Anyways, here are they pictures....

The long awaited Update

The house is coming along day by day. We were surprised to find the final post placed today on our visit to the house today. They are currently working on the sheet rock. They have hung the sheet rock everywhere but they haven't finished hanging it in our master closet/laundry room. They are supposed to starting taping and floating it tomorrow. Tomorrow is also supposed to be the day they hang the soffit and facia (vinyl siding) which has been delivered. We are very excited to see some of the changes that are taking place. We took some pictures but because there is no inside light and it is really hard to find an angle that will take a picture of the whole room we just took a few. So, to get a really good idea of what it looks like, you will just have to come visit us in Texas! The pictures are from left to right and top to bottom.... The living room, the, the dining room and then Eric washing dishes at the some day sink!:)

the hartman house

Well, I know I have been promising to update more often than this, but I am trying. Life has been super crazy around here. We have been given new church callings, assignments, and are working full time all the while trying to do what we can to clean up around the messy sub-contractors. Anyways, enough excuses....here is our house. We believe the windows will come tomorrow and hopefully the roof will get completed as well. The brick is delivered, too, so hopefully things will progress at a good speed. I apologize for the fuzziness of the pictures, but it is really humid and I didn't think it would affect the pictures like it did. Enjoy and let us know what you think! More pics to come

The Hartman Slab

These are the front porch and back porch views of the Hartman slab. The slab was poured on Friday and we think the framers are going to come this Wednesday, but....we are not holding our breath. The interest has officially started accruing....:)

Sunday, August 5, 2007

Well, we have had a good Sunday. I started teaching a Sunday School class today. I have the 14-17 years old class. I have about 8 active young people. We had a good lesson. I subed for the ward organist today too. We went to visit the Hartman land this afternoon and then Eric, Teresa, and I went to see Mike and Cindy Marions new house and Barry and Stacy Pittman's also. We had a nice dinner and just chilled this evening. I will probably be working a lot (everyday) since we have a few nurses out sick and on vacations. Mike and I are going to Fredricksburg this Thursday to spend a few days and celebrate our anniversary that was in April =) Mainly to get a little R&R. I'm really looking forward to that. I got my braces 2 weeks ago and tomorrow I will get my second set of aligners. I'm getting used to them a little bit. I downloaded the google free photoediting software today. If any of you haven't tried it, it is wonderful. It is picaso. Try it. Well, that's about all our news for this week. Teresa and Eric should have a slab poured Wednesday or Thursday. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!! We have a week of dry weather forcasted. Pray for us.
